Mission Statement
The Friends of the T.O.H.P. Burnham Public Library is to support and cooperate with the Library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing programs, resources, services, and facilities. We strive to accomplish our goals through fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy on behalf of the library.
Activities
The Friends augment the work of the Library Board of Trustees to:
- Gain support for library improvement
- Raise public awareness of the role of the library in the community
- Provide financial support beyond the library budget
- Encourage gifts and endowments to the library
- Support legislation important to libraries
Through fundraising and the Annual Membership Drive, the Friends are able to provide many extras to our library, including:
- Summer Reading and the Root Beer Float Kick Off Party
- Supplements to the materials collection, such as children’s magazines
- Music, yoga, and magic programs
- Author visits
